about
Data engineer, statistician, runner. Currently building dashboards and pipelines for AbbVie, studying ML at Georgia Tech, and overanalyzing the Bears on the internet.
I'm a data solutions engineer at Kru-Marc, where I work as a contractor for AbbVie building BI dashboards and ETL pipelines for the Field Tools Planning and Real World Data teams. My day-to-day is Impala SQL, Power BI, Qlik Sense, and Python. I work across marketing analytics and real-world data projects, including a migraine research dashboard for a Japan dataset.
I'm currently pursuing a Master's in Computer Science at Georgia Tech (OMSCS), focused on machine learning. Before that, I did a BS in Statistics and an MS in Data Science at Loyola University Chicago. The career goal is to move into ML engineering, with data engineering as a strong backup path.
interests
I ran Division I cross country and track in college, so running is in the DNA. I'm working on getting back to that level of fitness.
I'm a Chicago Bears and Bulls fan, which mostly means I know how to process disappointment with data. I run @MidwayMetrics on X, where I post Bears analytics and visualizations built with R and ggplot2.
I love classical statistics. Fisher information, sufficiency, the elegance of the fundamentals. I think the field is underappreciated compared to the ML hype cycle, and I like writing about it.
On the non-technical side, I'm fascinated by historical linguistics, particularly Proto-Indo-European and how language families diverge. Currently reading The Horse, the Wheel, and Language by David Anthony.
